A striking example of late 19th Century Peranakan or Straits Chinese architecture, this classic terraced town house in Singapore's historic Joo Chiat District is unique for its original louvered shutters and ornate moldings or carvings. It would have been home at the turn of the 19th Century to a rich local Towkay, or businessman and his family. Lovingly restored, it is one of the most distinctive example of Peranakan architecture in the area.
