Trafalgar Square, London UK, 27 October 2013. Diwali is celebrated by Hindu, Sikh and Jain communities across the world between mid-October and mid-November every year. Diwali, "the festival of lights", celebrates the triumphant victory of good over evil, light over darkness and hope over despair. Cultural performances, including music and dance, plus stalls, displays and food formed the event known as "Diwali on Trafalgar Square" and was brought to the public by the Mayor of London and many unique organisations which form the Diwali in London committee.
