here has never been a more confusing time to try to understand how to live a better life: scientists, newspapers, television and social media provide us with an endless barrage of contradictory and confusing information. Chris and Xand will tidy up the mess and examine how it’s possible to get the most out of ourselves, addressing a question that has troubled the great thinkers of the ages through all of time: “what can I get away with?” Their answers come from their own work as doctors and scientists at home - and abroad in the swamp forests of the Congo, Malaysian religious festivals, hallucinogens from the Amazon, swimming in the Arctic Ocean and work in refugee camps and war zones. The talk will feature slides, video clips, probably an unscripted argument between the brothers and at least one tastefully composed nude picture. Doctor Chris and Doctor Xand Van Tulleken are TV’s favourite twins. The three-time BAFTA nominated pair are renowned for their warm characters; on-screen chemistry and straight-talking approach to science and health. They have combined global health work with television; appearing in Horizon: Is Binge Drinking Really That Bad for you?, The Secret Life of Twins, Blizzard: Race to the Pole, Medicine Men and the BAFTA award-winning Operation Ouc Christoffer 'Dr Chris' van Tulleken (born 18 August 1978) is a British doctor and TV presenter.
