United States Navy - North American AJ-1 Savage 124161 of the Naval Air Test Centre (NATC - NAS Patuxent River) call-sign 161. Struck off charge on 19 July 1957. The AJ-1 Savage was the only naval aircraft capable of strategic strikes with nuclear weapons in the early 1950s. (With the dire emergency exception of the Lockheed P-2 Neptune, which had, for a short time, a one-way suicide role, taking off from US aircraft carriers, with no ability to land back on the carriers).
