The day after Jameson was made prisoner the Transvaal Govern-ment also found in Johannesburg 1, 000, 000 explosive cartridges of thissame pattern. The Transvaal Government deemed it proper and perti-nent to send packages of those explosives to the consuls of all the na-tions which were represented in South Africa, with the request that theybe forwarded to their respective governments, with the evidence thatsuch explosives were used by Jameson and his men and would havebeen used by the Johannesburg Outlanders if Jameson had met withbetter success. The nations so represented were Great Britain, France, Belgium, Holland, Italy, Austria, the United States, Russia andSweden. An investigation by the government showed that those explosivecartridges were so destructive that every one would have killed sixmen in case it had been fired
