Kuching, Malaysia - October 13, 2018: The Brooke family crest and emblem above the main door of Fort Margherita on north bank of the Sarawak River in Kuching, East Malaysia. The Brooke family became the White Rajahs of Sarawak. The coat of arms has the motto 'While I breathe, I Hope' in Latin. The fort was completed in 1879 and is built in the style of an English castle. It was constructed to protect Kuching from being attacked by pirates and served as a Police Museum from 1971 before being handed over to the Sarawak state government. The fort is a tourist attraction which houses the Brooke Gallery, an exhibition showcasing the history of Sarawak under the Brooke Dynasty.
