The Rohingya group, which includes 6 men, 9 women and 16 children, are believed by the police to be from the Jammu refugee camp and that they were trying to sneak into Bangladesh before the BSF personnel caught them and took them back to India. According to India Ministry of Home Affairs, there are about 40, 000 Rohingya India, although the UNHCR has put the number of registered refugees and asylum seeker at 18, 000.
