The New Houses of Parliament - the Peers' Porch, 1857. 'This porch is in Old Palace-yard, on the west front of the Palace, facing Poets' Corner; and is of essential service to the exterior appearance of this front of the building. We give a close view of this picturesque porch, with its elaborate fan-groined ceiling and bold centre boss. By this porch the Peers will enter'. From "Illustrated London News", 1857.
